Terms of use.

These terms cover your use of ChillBlades, a fan control app for macOS. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use ChillBlades.

ChillBlades costs $30, paid once, which buys a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, with updates included for as long as I publish them. You may use it for personal or commercial work. This is a license to use the software, not a sale of the software itself.

License keys are personal. You may not share, resell, rent out, or redistribute the app or a key, or pass off copies of it as your own. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction.

Every Mac gets a free 7-day trial with no card on file. The trial is the full app, the same build you would pay for, so you can check it controls your fans the way you expect before spending anything.

ChillBlades sets fan speeds within the minimum and maximum limits reported by your Mac's own fan hardware, and hands control back to macOS when you quit the app. It cannot push a fan past those limits and does not modify firmware or system files.

Holding fans below the speed macOS would have chosen trades noise for heat; that trade-off is yours to make and to supervise. Use the app sensibly: it is a control surface for your machine's existing cooling, not a substitute for adequate ventilation or for common sense about sustained heavy load.

ChillBlades is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. I do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

I may update ChillBlades over time, adding, changing, or removing features. I may also update these terms; when I do, I will change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
